Giovanni Senisi is a Toronto-based artist and has been teaching Art, Design, and Photography since 2001.
Much of my practice encompasses an exploration of the ephemerality inherent in human life. While pop culture fervently denies the reality of aging and death I use my work to contemplate its significance. Given the scope of my research I freely borrow from photographic traditions to build up an iconography that eschews the notion of ‘distanced subjectivity’ and engages the ongoing discussion regarding photography’s relationship with painting.
